WACO, Texas – Baylor men's golf head coach Jean-Paul Hebert announced the addition of Clayton Brady to his coaching staff on Thursday morning.
Brady joins the Bears after spending the last three seasons at Texas, serving as both an assistant coach and director of operations while helping guide the Longhorns to tremendous team and individual success.
Hebert looks forward to opening this new chapter of Baylor men's golf with a coach of Brady's caliber in the fold.
"Coach Brady is the right guy at the right time for Baylor Men's golf," he said. "His work ethic, love for the people around him and experience as a coach in the state of Texas have all qualified him to make a big impact on our program. Our current and future players here at Baylor will feel very fortunate to have him around on a daily basis. I'm proud to welcome Clayton and his family to Waco, and to the Baylor men's golf family."
During his time on the Forty Acres, Brady helped Texas reach NCAA Championship match play in two of his three seasons, including a quarterfinal appearance in 2025-26. The Longhorns battled, before falling to eventual national runner-up UCLA, notching the program's 12th top-five finish at the NCAA Championship under John Fields.
Texas claimed four team and four individual titles during the 2025-26 campaign, highlighted by a five-shot victory at the NCAA Bryan Regional over host Texas A&M. Brady helped guide four Longhorns to eight combined PING and Golfweek All-America honors during his tenure, including Christiaan Maas, Luke Potter, Tommy Morrison and Daniel Bennett. Maas earned first-team All-America recognition in 2025-26, while Potter was a second-team selection, Morrison earned third-team honors and Bennett collected honorable mention accolades.
In 2024-25, Texas captured five team titles and recorded 10 top-three finishes while advancing to the NCAA Championship match play quarterfinals. The Longhorns also claimed the Big 12 Match Play Championship, Big 12 Championship and NCAA Austin Regional during Brady's first season in Austin in 2023-24.
Boasting a lengthy resume in the Lone Star State, Brady spent five seasons as the head boys golf coach at Memorial High School in Houston, where he guided the program to a state runner-up finish in 2021 and a third-place finish in 2023. He was named the NFHS Texas Golf Coach of the Year and Houston Area Golf Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2021.
A native of Lake Travis, Texas, Brady earned his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M and also spent time coaching at Lake Travis High School, helping the girls program capture consecutive state championships in 2016 and 2017.
