WACO, Texas - Baylor's Jamie McLeary has been selected an honorable mention PING All-American, and he and teammates Ryan Baca and Adam Meyer were named to the PING All-South Central Region golf team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Sunday.

The trio recently concluded a season in which they led the Bears to the school's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championships, where Baylor finished 19th nationally.

McLeary, a junior from Scotlandwell, Scotland, placed 63rd at the national championships and finished the season with a 72.16 stroke average. He won individual medallist honors at the 2002 Border Olympics, one of three Top-5 and 10 Top-20 finishes on the season.

A transfer from Odessa Junior College, McLeary was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year following his first season at Baylor.

A sophomore from Waco, Meyer led the Bears with a 71.89 stroke average this season. He finished 27th at the NCAA Championships, and was named All-Big 12 by the league's coaches.

Meyer won two individual medals as a sophomore, taking the title at the 2001 Henry Griffitts Classic and the 2002 Rice Invitational, and earned five Top-10 finishes.

Baca, a freshman from Richmond, Texas, placed 51st at the national championship. He won the individual title at the 2001 Wolverine Invitational at Ann Arbor, Mich., and his 70.63 fall stroke average led the team.
