Men's Golf In Fourth At Big 12 Championship

HUTCHISON, Kan. - Behind Adam Meyer's two round three over par performance, the Baylor men's golf team stands in fourth place after the first two rounds at the Big 12 Championship.

Meyer (72-71=143) is tied for 11th overall after shooting two solid rounds. Baylor (297-286=583) as a team shot six over par in the second round, an 11 shot improvement from their first round score. In fact, each Baylor golfer improved from their first round score.

Oklahoma (557) leads the 12-team field with a 3-under 557 followed by Texas (567) and Oklahoma State (568). After Baylor, Missouri (585) and Colorado (590) stand fifth and sixth, respectively.

Despite having no golfers in the top-10 after Monday's action, four Bears rank in the top-30. Freshman Ryan Baca (75-71=146) is tied for 17th overall after a second round 71, junior Jamie McLeary (75-73=148) is tied for 23rd and freshman Derek Abel (75-74=149) is tied for 27th at nine over par.

Sophomore Will Doughtie (79-71=150) is currently tied for 33rd overall.

The defending Big 12 champion Bears will begin the third and final round Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Prairie Dunes Country Club.
