WACO, Texas - The Baylor-Oklahoma State baseball game on April 6 is one of four Big 12 Conference games to be televised by Fox Sports Southwest this season, the league announced late Thursday. With the game being selected for airing, the start time Saturday has been moved up to 2 p.m.
Five teams which have been ranked nationally for the majority of the 2002 campaign headline the series of four telecasts. The first three regional broadcasts are scheduled to be aired live on Fox Sports Southwest with other Fox Sports regionals (please check local listings) participating on a live or tape delay basis.
Baylor and Oklahoma State open the regional schedule on Saturday, Apr. 6, with a 2 p.m. (CST) telecast from Baylor Ballpark in Waco, Texas, before the scene shifts to Austin, Texas, on Saturday, May 4, for a Nebraska at Texas single game with 3 p.m. (CDT) airtime.
Three days before the sixth annual Phillips 66 Big 12 tournament at The Ballpark in Arlington (first time for this postseason venue in conference history), Texas A&M hosts Texas at 1 p.m. (CDT) on Sunday, May 19, from Olsen Field in College Station, Texas.
Eight teams from this conference will gather on Wednesday, May 22, at The Ballpark for the double-elimination classic in dual bracketing. That allows for a 13-15-game format, with the title game (the winner receives the Big 12's automatic berth in the NCAA Regionals) televised by Fox Sports Net nationally at 1 p.m. (CDT) from Arlington, Texas. Longtime college play-by-play man Bill Land and Greg Lucas are scheduled to be the anchors for the telecasts with expert analysis from former Major Leaguer Jack Lazorko.
