Men's Golf heads to Udamon SW Classic

VICTORIA, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will continue its spring season by playing at the annual Udamon Southwest Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 18-19, at the Victoria Country Club. The tournament is hosted by Southwest Texas.

The Bears, currently ranked 29th on golfstat.com, are led by Sophomore Adam Meyer who ranks first in the Big 12 conference coming into the spring season with a 70.27 stroke average. Not far behind are teammates Ryan Baca, who ranks third in the conference with a 70.64 average, and Jamie McLeary who ranks fourth with a 70.91 average.

The Bears are currently ranked 29th on golfstat.com.

The Southwest Classic is played at the Victoria Country Club. The course is 6,682 yards and is a par 72. The tournament will begin with two 18-hole rounds Monday.

Baylor won the 15-team Southwest Classic by two strokes last year, edging out Arkansas-Little Rock. Former Bear Jimmy Walker won the individual medal by eight strokes and then-freshman teammate Meyer finished fifth among 79 participants.

The defending Big 12 champion Bears have won three of their last seven tournaments and have finished in the top four in each of their last four tournaments.

In Baylor's last outing, the Bears placed second at the Rice Intercollegiate in Katy, Texas. Meyer led the Bears and won the individual medal in a two-hole playoff.
