Men's Golf Hosts Baylor Invitational

WACO, Texas - Baylor???sup>TMs men???sup>TMs golf team will conclude its fall season by hosting the Baylor Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 28-29, at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco.

The tournament boasts a competitive 16-team field that includes Baylor, Arkansas-Little Rock, Iowa State, Kansas State, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisville, Maryland, North Texas, Rice, St. John???sup>TMs, Southeast Louisiana, SMU, Texas-Arlington, Texas-San Antonio and Wichita State.

The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two 18-hole rounds Monday starting at 8:00 a.m., and a final round Tuesday.

The Bear Ridge Golf Club is a brand-new 7,250-yard, par 72 course. The 2002 Baylor Invitational is the first collegiate tournament to be held at the new facility.

Baylor won last year???sup>TMs tournament that featured 18 teams. They were lead by then-sophomore Adam Meyer who tied for the individual medal. Baylor has won the invitational two of the past three years.

The 20th-ranked Bears have finished in the top five in each of their last 14 regular season tournaments.

In Baylor???sup>TMs last outing of the fall, the Bears tied for first at the Stonebridge Invitational in McKinney, Texas. Four Bears finished in the top 20. The team was lead by senior Jamie McLeary who finished second among all individuals.
