Baseball Begins Fall Practices

WACO, Texas - The Baylor baseball team begins their month-long fall practice Monday. The series of intrasquad scrimmages concludes Oct. 16-28 with the annual nine-game Fall Championship Series.

The first two weeks are primarily composed of intrasquad practices and scrimmages as the Baylor roster is broken down into six teams.

The Green and Gold Game precedes the Fall Championship Series and pits the newcomers (Green) against the Veterans (Gold). The annual Green and Gold Game is Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., after Baylor football hosts Nebraska earlier in the day.

The Fall Championship Series begins Oct. 16 and is a nine-game series between two teams drafted by the coaches from the Baylor roster. All nine games will be played regardless of the teams' win-loss record.

Topping off the fall practice schedule is the Baylor baseball alumni weekend. The activities begin Oct. 19 at noon with a golf tournament at Lake Waco Country Club, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark. The alumni game follows on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at the Ballpark. A Fall Championship Series game will follow the Alumni Game.

All practices and games are open to the public. Most practices are scheduled for weekday afternoons at 3 p.m., a Fall Championship Series schedule will be announced at a later date.
