WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team received its first regional bid in the history of the program today. They were selected as the No. 10 seed in the 11-team West Regional of the 2000 NCAA Division I Women?s Golf Championships Regionals.

The West Regional will be played May 11-13 at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. The tournament will be hosted by Arizona State University. Other teams selected in the West District include: New Mexco State, Oklahoma State, New Mexico, Texas, Tulsa, TCU, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri and Texas Tech.

The tournament is considered a preliminary round of the NCAA championships competition. Eleven of the 24 teams in the West and Far West Districts will advance to the championships final May 24-27 in Sunriver, Oregon.
