Travon Carter

Travon Carter serves Baylor Athletics as the Assistant Director of Academic Services within the Student-Athlete Center for Development.

Carter was previously an Academic Coach before being promoted to his current role in September 2024.

Carter is a former football player. He spent two years at Trinity Valley Junior College and two years at Eastern Kentucky University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Psychology.

After college, he went into strength and conditioning, where he trained high school athletes. Travon was always passionate about working with student-athletes, but it was his time in high school where his passion flourished. He was able to see the impact that he had on his student-athletes. After a year of strength and conditioning training, he was given an opportunity to coach at the junior college he attended. While at Trinity Valley, he oversaw the student's fitness center and assisted with the football team coaching the offensive line. After a year at Trinity Valley, he went on to coach at Northwestern State University. He worked with football in addition to working on campus at the Center of Inclusion and Diversity.

He also completed his master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education during his time there. It was during his time at Northwestern State when he transitioned into academics.
