Janusek hitting .327 with six home runs, 24 RBIs and 10 stolen bases
WACO, Texas – Baylor baseball freshman outfielder Brady Janusek has been named to Perfect Game's Midseason Freshman All-America First Team, as announced Wednesday by the publication.
Janusek is off to a dynamic start for the Bears, having started all 28 games in right field. He is slashing .327/.422/.591 and has hit six home runs with 24 RBIs. Janusek has made at least one start in each of the top six spots in the batting order and has scored a team-leading 29 runs while also stealing a team-high 10 bases.
To start the season, the true freshman reached base safely in each of the first 18 games of the year. He is currently riding a season-high nine-game hitting streak, the longest active such streak for a Bear, with 14 hits over that stretch, including six for extra bases. Janusek ranks second on the team with 14 extra-base hits on the year.
Coming into the 2026 campaign, Janusek was touted as the nation's No. 53 "Freshman to Know" by D1Baseball and hit the ground running with his first-career knock leaving the yard on Feb. 14 against New Mexico State. Janusek has displayed power to all fields, having cleared the batter's eye with a 456-foot blast on March 10 against Sam Houston, Baylor's second-longest homer of the year.
Janusek has helped Baylor to a 16-12 start over the first half of the 2026 season, including a 5-4 record in Big 12 play where the Bears currently sit tied for fourth in the league standings. BU next takes the field on Thursday, April 2, to start a three-game series against BYU.
