The sophomore righty picked up three wins and struck out 17 last week
WACO, Texas – Baylor softball's Cambree Creager was nearly untouchable in the circle last week, picking up D1 Softball's National Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.
The Georgetown, Texas, native led the Bears to a 4-0 week that included a conference-opening sweep of Iowa State. She went 3-0 with a 0.49 ERA, tossing 14.1 innings while striking out 17 and allowing just one earned run across three appearances.
Opening the week with a complete-game shutout against SFA, where she tallied a career-high eight strikeouts, Creager followed that up with a dominant start against Iowa State. Over five innings of work, she scattered five hits and struck out four, allowing just a single run, which snapped a streak of 11.1 scoreless innings for the righty.
After a pair of impressive starts, Creager was called on out of the bullpen, where she shut down the Cyclones after they erased a 4-0 BU lead in the series finale. In just 2.1 innings of work, she had five strikeouts, quieting the ISU bats and allowing Baylor to walk off with a series sweep in the bottom of the seventh.
The sophomore has propelled herself among the Big 12's leaders, as she now ranks seventh in the conference in innings pitched (54.2) and is tied for sixth in strikeouts (47).
Over her last 11 appearances, Creager compiled a 6-1 record with 43 strikeouts and a 1.42 ERA across 49.1 innings.
The sophomore is Baylor's first national pitcher of the week since Dariana Orme in 2023.
Creager and the 17-6 Bears begin a Florida road swing at Stetson at 5 p.m. CT Wednesday at Patricia Wilson Field in DeLand, Fla. BU will then look to build on its Big 12-sweep of Iowa State when it visits No. 17 UCF, starting Friday at 5 p.m. CT.
