Weekend schedule of Big 12 matches on Friday, Sunday
WACO, Texas – No. 20 Baylor women's tennis is welcoming a pair of Big 12 opponents in Colorado and No. 14 Texas Tech to the Hurd Tennis Center, hosting the Buffs on Friday at 6 p.m. and the Lady Raiders on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Baylor (12-2) split a pair of matches on the road at No. 23 UCF and at Houston last week, falling to the Knights 5-2 before claiming the fifth sweep of the year over the Coogs, 4-0.
85th-ranked Na Dong strengthened her freshman campaign record with a 2-0 stint through the weekend, the only Bear to do so, picking up dubs over UCF's Jade Psonka and UH's Elizaveta Morozova.
BU is the winner of seven straight matches over Colorado, dating back to March 28, 2008, and holds the 16-6 all-time advantage. Against Texas Tech, Baylor again holds the series lead at 29-18, but the Lady Raiders have the last two matches, including a 4-0 sweep last season in Lubbock.
Dong's No. 85 ranking in singles remains the Bears' lone ITA-mentioned court and the only ranked singles player across the three teams. In doubles, Baylor boasts Liubov Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea at No. 15 and Na Dong and Sierra Berry at No. 89.
Texas Tech owns the No. 5 pairing in the ITA in Avelina Sayfetdinova and Mariia Hlahola and Colorado has the No. 19 team of Anya Nelson and Ema Bubalo.
Live stats and Playsight video will be available on BaylorBears.com and CrackedRacquets will feature both matches on the Big 12 CrossCourt Cast on ESPN+.
