Game notes:
• Baylor closes its five-game homestand on Tuesday morning in the annual Future Bears Game against Alabama State at Foster Pavilion. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN+ and the Baylor Sports Media Network.
• It is the first-ever matchup between the two programs all-time and Alabama State's third Power Four game of the season.
• After playing four of its first six games in a different time zone, including one in Central European Standard Time, BU completed its busiest opening stretch since the 2021-22 season, when Collen's first squad played four road games in its first six overall: at UT Arlington, at Maryland, and against Fordham and Arizona State in Cancun.
• Baylor is ranked 13th in the AP Poll and 15th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after their 9-1 start to the season.
• Future Bears Day has been expanded in its second year at Foster Pavilion and plans to welcome over 3,000 students and staff from 27 local schools.
• Through games on Dec. 7, Baylor is ranked No. 26 in the NET.
• The Bears are 0-1 against Quadrant 1 opponents, with the lone game coming in a five-point loss to Iowa in Orlando. BU's top win came against Duke in Paris to open the season.
• Alabama State is ranked No. 290 in the NET, with no Division I wins yet this season.
• Taliah Scott has made an immediate impact for the Bears, scoring 232 points in 10 games, including 32 against No. 19 Iowa.
• Scott scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Bears over the Blue Devils, going 3-of-6 from the floor in that frame while adding six clutch free throws.
• In a career first, Scott had a double-double against Southeastern Louisiana with 23 points and a career high 10 assists.
• Scott earned Big 12 Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week honors for her performances to start the year and was named to the league's Starting Five twice.
• The Auburn transfer opened the season with a nation-leading streak of seven consecutive 20-point games. She also became just the third player since 2000 to score 20 or more points in each of at least her first seven games on a new roster, joining Buffalo's Dyaisha Fair (seven in 2019–20) and Idaho's Emily Faurholt (10 in 2003–04).
• The Bears downed UTSA in Game Four of five straight at home, 73-55, behind five steals from Darianna Littlepage-Buggs and 19 points from Taliah Scott.
