Reid earns third Flat MOP honor of the season
STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 9 Baylor equestrian fell to No. 5 Oklahoma State at Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center Friday afternoon, 13-6.
Senior Lauren Reid continued to excel, earning her third Most Outstanding Performer award of the season in Flat. Reid tied for third in most MOPs earned in a season and fourth for career MOP in Flat during the Maxwell era, matching with former Bear Dominikia Silvestri (2020-24).
THE RUNDOWN
Starting the day off in Fences, Katie Smith earned a 69, which was bested by OSU's 78.5. Mogan McCarthy rode for an 84.5, which was not enough to upend the Cowgirls' 88. Lauren Joregensen earned BU's sole point in the event, winning her point 85-80.5. Caroline Muth's 75.5 was not enough to beat Oklahoma State's 84.5, and Lauren Reid's 87 was bested by OSU's 90.5. The Cowgirls won the event 4-1.
In Horsemanship, Taylor Smith rode for a 71.5 but was unable to beat OSU's 72.75. Anna Thron earned a 71.25 to best Oklahoma State's 69.5 for a Baylor point. Carley Rutledge's 74.25 was upended by OSU's 76.75. Avery Mortman garnered a 74.25 to beat the Cowgirls 73.75 to earn BU's second point of the event. Oklahoma State would best Addisyn Albers 76-73.75. OSU won the event 3-2.
The Cowgirls had the lead 7-3 at halftime heading into Flat and Reining.
In Flat, Caroline Robelen tied with Oklahoma State 84.5-84.5 for no point to be awarded. Lauren Stebbins' ride was bested by one point, 80.5-79.5. MOP Reid earned an 89 over OSU's 82.5 to earn a point for the green and gold. Grace O'Connell's season high of 86 was just shy of beating the Cowgirls' 86.5. McCarthy's ride on Gunny was not enough to best Oklahoma State, losing her point 86.5-85. OSU won the event 3-1.
Finishing off in Reining, Kalena Reynolds score of 70 was not enough to upend Oklahoma State's 72.75. Sadie Peters lost her point 69-67.25. Britt McIlnay bested OSU 68.5-68, and Riley Cachat won her point 71.5-71.25. OSU beat Bella Hehr, 67.75-0. The Cowgirls won the event 3-2 and took the meet 13-6.

WHAT'S NEXT
No. 9 BU (1-3, 1-1) heads back to Waco to host No. 6 SMU (0-3) at 11 a.m. on Nov. 14. The Mustangs travel to College Station to face off against Texas A&M on Nov. 13 before heading to Waco. The meet will close out the squad's fall slate and will celebrate the 20th Anniversary season of equestrian at Baylor. The meet will also celebrate Thanksgiving at the Willis, as fans can bring canned goods to donate and be entered into a raffle.
