Game notes:
• Baylor returns to Waco to open a five-game homestand on Wednesday afternoon, hosting the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters for a 2 p.m. CT tipoff.
• LA Tech came to Waco last season for the first meeting in the Nicki Collen era, with BU securing a 44-point win after Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (13 points, 12 rebounds), Bella Fontleroy (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Jada Walker (14 points, 10 assists) lifted the Bears over the Lady Techsters.
• After playing four of its first six games in a different time zone, including one in Central European Standard Time, BU completed its busiest opening stretch since the 2021-22 season, when Collen's first squad played four road games in its first six overall: at UT Arlington, at Maryland, and against Fordham and Arizona State in Cancun.
• Baylor is ranked 15th in the AP Poll and 16 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after their 5-1 start to the season.
• The Bears are ranked third in the Big 12 for Blocks Per Game, while Kiersten Johnson (3- blocks, 3- blocks per game), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (1- double-doubles, 3- rebounds, 3- rebounds per game) and Taliah Scott (1- field goal attempts, 2- field goals, 2- free throw attempts, 1- free throws, 1- minutes per game, 2- points, 2- points per game, 3- three-point attempts) each have league top-3 rankings.
• Baylor went 1-1 in its appearance at the WBCA State Farm Showcase in Orlando, falling in a nail-biter to No. 19 Iowa before defeating Davidson in overtime less than 48 hours later.
• The tournament was the second annual, hosted by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
• Against Iowa, Taliah Scott scored a season-high 32 points, including 12 of the Bears' 13 fourth-quarter points, in a second half plagued by an 18.8% shooting performance. The BU defense held Iowa to its lowest scoring output of the season at 34.4% for the game, its second lowest in the first 40 games under new head coach Jan Jensen.
• The Bears' 28.8% shooting for the game was their third-lowest so far in the Nicki Collen era and their lowest not coming against a top-10 opponent. At 17-of-59, the 17 made field goals tied the fewest under Collen, matching the loss to South Dakota in the 2022 NCAA Second Round.
• Baylor got its bounce-back win over Davidson in overtime, defeating the Wildcats by two points after outscoring them 11-9 in the extra period.
• BU led for just over 28 minutes in regulation by as many as seven points as the third quarter came to a close, but Davidson fought back with a 21-point fourth quarter to tie the game with four seconds left.
• Sophomore transfer Yuting Deng was named the game's Most Outstanding Player after driving down the lane to take the lead and win the game as time expired, capping her first double-digit scoring effort as a Bear.
• Four Bears scored in double figures for the first time this season, with Scott leading the way for the fifth time with 22 points. Darianna Littlepage-Buggs added 12 points, Deng had 12, and Kiersten Johnson recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
• Taliah Scott has made an immediate impact for the Bears, scoring 152 points in just five games, including 32 against No. 19 Iowa.
• Scott earned Big 12 Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week honors for her performances to start the year and was named to the league's Starting Five after scoring 54 points in two WBCA Showcase games in Orlando.
• Baylor debuted new uniforms for the 2025 NCAA Tournament in collaboration with Nike.
• BU was one of three programs with the updated postseason look, joining UConn and Stanford, one of two in the NCAA Tournament.
• The updated Dri-FIT ADV material features an embedded vertical design that was first used with Team USA at the Paris Olympics, as both American squads brought home the gold medal.
• The Bears also have a new gold uniform with the SIC 'EM wordmark across the chest that was first used against LA Tech on Nov. 26, 2025. The gold shorts feature a similar, but enlarged, bear claw tear.
