Bears head to Fort Worth to kick off postseason play
By Rylee White, Baylor Athletics Communications
WACO, Texas – No. 23 Baylor soccer will travel up I-35 to face No. 15 Texas Tech to open postseason play on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium in Fort Worth. This match will kick off the Allstate Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal round, streaming live on ESPN+.
The Bears (12-3-3, 7-3-1 Big 12) enter the matchup coming off a 2-0 win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. BU secured the No. 5 seed in the tournament behind a five-match win streak in the middle of conference play. The finish marks a significant jump from last season, when the Bears closed the regular season ranked 10th in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders (13-2-3, 7-1-3 Big 12) closed out the regular season at home with a 0-0 draw against UCF. Tech secured the No. 4 seed in the tournament after dropping just one conference match, a 3-0 loss to Colorado. The Red Raiders finished as the No. 2 seed a year ago, marking only a slight dip in the standings this season.

The two programs met earlier this season in the Big 12 opener, where Baylor fell 1-0 after a Texas Tech penalty kick proved to be the difference. BU holds the all-time series advantage at 18-10-6, with one of those losses coming in last year's Big 12 Championship quarterfinal, when the Red Raiders edged the Bears, 2-1.
Baylor dropped to the No. 23 spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, released through matches played on Oct. 26. Texas Tech ranks No. 15 in the same poll. The Bears claimed the No. 15 spot in the RPI rankings, barely topping the Raiders who rank No. 17 in the same metric.
Live stats for the match will be available online with updates provided on social media.
