Bears come off win over Hawai’i to host Wildcats
WACO, Texas – No. 19 Baylor volleyball welcomes Arizona to the Ferrell Center on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. match, continuing a nine-match homestand for the Bears.
The midweek match opens conference play for both programs and is UA's first match within the Big 12. It's only the second time the Wildcats and Bears will have met, the first being in September of 2000 when the teams played in Tucson.
Baylor is 102-44 in Big 12 matches under head coach Ryan McGuyre and have raked in 228 Big 12 wins overall since 1996.
BU (8-3) heads into the match with the Wildcats (11-0) after BU's 3-1 win against Hawai'i on Saturday.
Leading the way for the Bears through 11 matches are senior outside hitter Elise McGhee (127 kills, 20 aces), senior libero Lauren Briseño (164 digs), graduate transfer setter Jackie Barrett Frazier (288 assists) and senior middle blocker Manuela Bibinbe (33 blocks).
It will be Faith and Family Night at the Ferrell, with players sharing their testimonies after the match.
The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. with Pete Souza and Katie Smith on the call. Live stats will be available at BaylorStats.com, with a full recap and final box score uploaded to BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of the match.
