The Bears are 8-5 on the year; 2-0 in Big 12 play
MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The Baylor women's tennis team used a 4-0 victory at West Virginia on Sunday morning to remain undefeated in conference play.
"The team competed well this weekend," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "It was a total team effort, and we are proud of that. Our goal is always ongoing improvement and that happens in practice. We need to stay committed to refining our fundamentals and skills throughout the season with a growth mindset. I'm confident the team will rise to the challenge and prepare for what's next."
The Bears earned the doubles point after a 6-0 shut out by Isabella Harvison and Liubov Kostenko on court three and a 6-4 victory by Miska Kadleckova and Danielle Tuhten at the No. 2 position.
Kadleckova continued her hot streak and turned in her second-straight 6-0, 6-0 performance at the No. 1 position to extend Baylor's lead. A 6-0, 6-1 win by Zuzanna Kubacha on court four pushed the Bears ahead, 3-0, before Kostenko clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position.
Baylor takes a break from Big 12 play on Tuesday when it hosts No. 23 Arizona State at 12 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center. The Bears will return to conference action next weekend when they host UCF and Houston.
