
No. 19 MT Travels to Face No. 4 Wake Forest

Bears play second top-5 matchup on the road in two weeks
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 19 Baylor men's tennis team will travel to North Carolina for a match on Saturday, March 16, against No. 4 Wake Forest at 1 p.m. at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
BU (15-4) is coming off a split doubleheader on March 10, dropping a 4-2 in a nailbiter against No. 2 TCU and beating Cleveland State, 5-2.
Wake Forest (14-4) is also coming off a March 10 doubleheader, defeating Clemson and North Carolina A&T. The Demon Deacons have won five of their last six.
Two of the Bears' ranked players took home some massive singles victories last week against TCU. No. 123 Devin Badenhorst (11-2) defeated No. 30 Sebastian Gorzny, 6-4, 6-4. No. 59 Tadeas Paroulek (7-4) won in three sets versus No. 14 Pedro Vives, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
The all-time series between the Demon Deacons and the Bears is knotted at 3-3, dating back to 2009. Wake Forest won the last matchup, 4-0, in 2023.
Baylor's ranked players include the aforementioned Badenhorst and Paroulek off top 30 wins, and No. 84 Zsombor Velcz at 8-3 on the year with three ranked wins.
Wake Forest has four players ranked in No. 22 Filippo Moroni (4-9), No. 90 Dhakshineswar Suresh (6-7), No. 98 Luciano Tacchi (9-6) and No. 105 Franco Capalbo (0-1), and boasts the No. 1 ranked pair in the country, Suresh and Holden Koons.
