Bears face Jayhawks at noon in Lawrence
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Baylor volleyball team continues its trip through the Sunflower State with a stop at No. 12 Kansas on Saturday afternoon, first serve set for 12 p.m. CT at the Horejsi Family Arena.
The Bears (18-6, 10-3) face the Jayhawks (21-3, 12-2) for the first and only time this season on Saturday. The all-time series is led by BU at 31-27, with KU leading in their home gym, 18-11. Last time out, Baylor fell in three sets on the road on Nov. 15, 2023. Ryan McGuyre has a record of 9-8 against Kansas, with a 5-1 record in the last six matches of the series.
Baylor enters Saturday's match on an eight-match winning streak, including four-straight sweeps. BU took the match from Kansas State in three sets on Wednesday night.
KU won against No. 18 TCU on Wednesday night, 3-1, after falling in four sets at Arizona State and in five at Arizona the week prior.
Leading the way for the Bears through 24 matches are senior outside hitter McGhee (319 kills, 36 aces), senior libero Briseño (351 digs), graduate transfer setter Jackie Barrett Frazier (694 assists) and senior middle blocker Alicia Andrew (69 blocks).
BU is 112-47 in Big 12 matches under McGuyre and has raked in 238 Big 12 wins overall since 1996.
