Bears host top-25 matchup on Friday
WACO, Texas – No. 23 Baylor volleyball hosts No. 18 TCU on Friday for a top-25 Homecoming matchup, first serve set for 5 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.
The Bears (12-6, 4-3) and Horned Frogs (14-4, 6-2) will meet for the second time this season on Friday. On Oct. 6, Baylor fell to TCU in Fort Worth, 3-1. BU leads the home series at the Ferrell Center, 12-4.
Baylor is coming off a 3-1 win over Houston on the road to host the Frogs, falling in the first set but taking the next three. Elise McGhee led the team with 15 kills while Alicia Andrew dominated on the block with seven assisted.
Students can take home a free Sailor Bear bucket hat while supplies last by showing a valid Baylor student ID on the court at the marketing table.
BU is 106-47 in Big 12 matches under head coach Ryan McGuyre and have raked in 232 Big 12 wins overall since 1996.
Leading the way for the Bears through 18 matches are senior outside hitter Elise McGhee (205 kills, 24 aces), senior libero Lauren Briseño (258 digs), graduate transfer setter Jackie Barrett Frazier (496 assists) and senior middle blocker Manuela Bibinbe (51 blocks).
Briseño is just four aces away from joining Baylor's career top-five for rally scoring service aces at 81. In addition, she's 22 digs away from entering the top-10 for career digs at BU, currently registering 1,195 over her four-year career.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ at 5 p.m. CT, with Lincoln Rose and Baylor volleyball alumna Camryn Freiberg on the call. Live stats will be available at BaylorStats.com, with a full recap and final box score uploaded to BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of the match.
