BU’s Ashleen Kaur led the Bears in her career-first event

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Baylor women's golf wrapped up the Annika Intercollegiate with a 12^th-place finish on Tuesday at Royal Golf Club.

SIlje Ohma carded the team's top score for a second-straight day with an even-par 72 as BU finished with a 21-over 885. Ashleen Kaur finished with a 2-over 218, good enough for a tie for 33^rd, becoming the first freshman to lead the team in her career-first event since Giovana Maymon in 2014.

South Carolina won the team title with a 26-under 838, while four players shared medalist honors with 8-under 208s.

THE RUNDOWN
Kaur finished tied for 33^rd after a 3-over 75 on Wednesday. The freshman made an early bogey at No. 11, but bounced back with a pair of birdies at Nos. 14 and 17 to make the turn at 1-under. A pair of bogeys opened her second nine at Nos. 1 and 2, before a third birdie pulled her back to even par. She would close with three more bogeys at Nos. 4, 6 and 7.

Rosie Belsham opened her senior season with a tie for 38^th on the heels of a 4-over 76 Wednesday. Belsham opened the final round with a bogey at No. 10, before adding a double bogey at No. 15 to turn to the second nine at 3-over. A birdie at No. 1 opened the inward half, but two more bogeys dropped her to 4-over for the round and 4-over for the championship.

Ohma finished 43^rd after improving her score for a third-straight day with an even-par 72. Following a birdie at No. 12, Ohma made a bogey at No. 13 and a double bogey at No. 14 to drop back over par. The sophomore rebounded with three birdies in her final four holes to make the turn at 1-under. A bogey-birdie start to her second nine kept her in red figures, before a final bogey at No. 6 dropped her back to even for the day.

Sera Hasegawa finished tied for 52^nd after a 4-over 76 on Wednesday. The junior bounced back from a couple of bogeys at Nos. 10 and 13 with birdies at Nos. 16 and 18 to get back to even after nine. She dipped into red figures with a birdie at No. 2, but played her final five holes at five-over par to close out her first tournament of the season.

BaiMai Seema shot a 4-over 76 on Wednesday en route to a 56^th-place finish. Seema made back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 12 and 13 but responded with a pair of birdies at Nos. 15 and 17 for an even-par opening nine. Bogeys at Nos. 1 and 3 book-ended a birdie at No. 2 before she closed the round with three more bogeys at Nos. 5, 6 and 7.

HIGHLIGHTS

Ashleen Kaur is the first Baylor freshman to lead the team in her career-first event since Giovana Maymon in 2014.
Silje Ohma led the field in par-3 scoring average (2.75).
