WACO, Texas – Baylor track and field opens the gates of the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium for the first time in 2023 on Friday and Saturday for the Clyde Hart Classic. Field events start at noon on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while running events are out of the blocks at 6 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 Saturday.
The Bears welcome Tarleton State, Louisiana Tech, UT Arlington, Louisiana-Monroe, Grambling State, TCU, Minnesota, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and SFA to Waco for competition.
The Clyde Hart Classic is the official outdoor opener for the squad, but throwers made their debuts at last week's TCU Alumni Invite in Fort Worth. Newcomers Gary Moore Jr., Cooper Mack, Victoria Adu and Makayla Long all threw program all-time list marks.
The Baylor men are off their hottest indoor season in over a decade, as Matthew Moorer, Nathaniel Ezekiel and the 4x400-meter relay all finished with All-America honors. Hasani Barr also qualified to the finals of the 400 meters.
The women saw the 4x400-meter relay cross the line as Big 12 Champions for the third-consecutive season, while 12 others won All-Big 12 honors.
Outdoor rankings have not yet been released by the USTFCCCA, but Baylor men enter the outdoor season at No. 17, thanks to their top-20 finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Tickets for both days can be purchased online and at the stadium box office. DeltaTiming will carry live results for the meet and all up-to-date information can be found at www.baylorbea.rs/23HomeInfo.
