Baylor finished the indoor season ranked No. 9 (women’s) and tied for 18th (men’s).
WACO, Texas – Coming off a historic end to the indoor season, Baylor track & field transitions to the outdoor season with the UTSA Invitational Saturday at Park West Athletics Complex in San Antonio.
"We're excited to officially get the outdoor season going," head coach Todd Harbour said. "We had a few that opened up two weeks ago, but we have more this week. We're resting a few of our indoor national athletes. We'll be at full strength at Texas Relays, but this is a good group we're taking down. We're really excited to see what some of them are ready to do outdoors."
The Bears will take a roster of 36 combined between the men's and women's teams and will be competing against Kansas State, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, UIW, UTEP, UTRGV & UTSA.
Preseason outdoor rankings are set to come out on March 23. Baylor finished the indoor season No. 9 on the women's side and tied for 18th in the men's rankings. KC Lightfoot (pole vault), Aaliyah Miller (800 meters) and Ackera Nugent (60-meter hurdles) all won indoor national championships for the Bears, the first time in school history to have three titles at the same NCAA meet.
"It's going to be a great weekend with great competition," Harbour said. "UTSA is always a great meet, so we're looking forward to it."
