Bears open conference slate with road match against Cowgirls
WACO, Texas – No. 3 Baylor equestrian (3-0) hits the road to open Big 12 action against No. 7 Oklahoma State (0-1) on Saturday at Totusek Arena in Stillwater, Okla., at 10 a.m. CT.
The Bears are coming off a season-opening 3-0 start as host of the Willis Invitational with wins over Delaware State, UT Martin and then-No. 8 Fresno State.The Cowgirls opened their 2018-19 season with a 12-5 loss to then-No. 3 Texas A&M on Sept. 28 in College Station.
Baylor looks to capture its first win against OSU under second-year head coach Casie Maxwell. The Cowgirls outscored the Bears 41-17 in three meetings last season, the most recent at the Big 12 Championship on March 31.
Baylor heads into the meet with NCEA Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month Abbi Demel who has earned two MOP honors during the Bears' opening weekend.
