WACO, Texas - Baylor's track and field program will compete in its final regular season meet by traveling to the Red Raider Shootout hosted by Texas Tech Friday in Lubbock, Texas.

Beside Baylor and host Texas Tech, Nebraska and Wichita State will be in attendance at the meet. Action starts with the women's javelin at 2 p.m. The running events will begin with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6 p.m.

Baylor's squads are coming off a successful Michael Johnson Invitational, in which the Bears won 10 event titles. The men's squad jumped nine spots to No. 10 in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, while the BU women were up 12 spots to No. 12 in the latest edition.

In total, BU has 45 competitors scheduled to take part in the meet. Baylor's men's team will have 24 participants competing, while the women will have 21 athletes in action.

Baylor owns seven NCAA top-10 marks:à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Maxwell Willis (100m, 6th in 10.08 & 200m, 9th in 20.36), Wil London (400m, 6th in 45.46), Annie Rhodes (pole vault, 6th in 14-5.5 [4.41m]), Felix Obi (triple jump, 1st in 54-8.25 [16.67m]), Cion Hicks (shot put, 8th in 56-9.25 [17.30m]) and the men's 4x400-meter relay team (3rd in 3:03.11).

Following the Red Raider Shootout, the Bears will take a weekend off, before heading to Lawrence, Kan., for the 2017 Big 12 Outdoor Championship, which runs May 12-14.
