Baylor men's golf finished in fourth place at The Maxwell after shooting 54-hole total of 30-over-par 870. The Bears carded an 11-over-par 291 in Saturday's final round at Oak Tree Country Club.

BU placed behind No. 2 Oklahoma State (+9), No. 13 Oklahoma (+15) and No. 48 New Mexico (+15). The Bears earned head-to-head victories over three top-50 ranked opponents in No. 25 Colorado (+46), No. 45 August (+46) and No. 49 Liberty (+31). BU also finished in front of UCLA (+31), North Texas (+34), UTSA (+40), Wichita State (+43), Memphis (+59), SMU (+62) and East Carolina (+73).

Matthew Perrine took third place in the 80-player field at 1-over-par 211, two strokes back of medalist Hidetoshi Yoshihara (-1) of UCLA. Perrine shot 1-over 71 in the final round to earn his seventh consecutive top-10 finish and his fourth top-five finish in that span.

Braden Bailey shot a final round of 3-over 73 and tied for 28th place at 9-over 219. Hunter Shattuck tied for 31st place at 10-over 200 after also shooting 3-over 73 in the final round. Cooper Dossey tied for 33rd place after shooting 5-over 75 on Saturday to finish at 11-over 221, and Garrett May tied for 62nd place with a 17-over 227 after a final round 4-over 74.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Baylor recorded a 10-3 head-to-head record in The Maxwell, improving to 103-17 on the season and 98-8 over its last eight tournaments.
- The Bears' fourth place finish was their eighth consecutive top-five, but it was only the second team this season finishing outside the top three teams.
- Matthew Perrine recorded Baylor's only round at par or better, improving his team-leading total to 18 of 26 rounds at par or better this season.
- The Bears finished second in par-5 scoring at 14-under 4.53, tied for third in par-3 scoring at 17-over 3.28 and seventh in par-4 scoring at 45-over 4.25.
- Baylor's 43 birdies were second-most in the 14-team field, but their 148 pars ranked 12th in the tournament.
- Braden Bailey and Cooper Dossey tied for third in par-5 scoring at 4-under 4.33.
- Perrine tied for fifth in par-3 scoring at even-par 3.00.
- Perrine and Bailey made 10 birdies apiece, tied for seventh-most in the tournament.

STAT OF THE DAY
10 ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor finished in front of 10 teams, the sixth consecutive tournament with double-digit wins. BU has a 75-5 head-to-head record over its last six events.

Baylor has completed the 2016-17 regular season and will now turn its attention to postseason play, beginning with the 2017 Big 12 Championship, which runs April 24-26 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
