THE RUNDOWN FORT WORTH, Texas - Baylor soccer (10-5-2, 4-4-1 Big 12) dropped its second-straight overtime match to close out the regular season, falling 2-1 to TCU (12-5-1, 6-2-1 Big 12) on Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
After splitting even after the first period in shots (7-7), shots on goal (3-3), and corners (3-3), BU finished the match trailing in all three categories. The Frogs finished with the edge in shots (15-12), shots on goal (8-5), and corners (7-3). The Bears were also called for 19 fouls compared to nine for TCU and BU was charged with three yellow cards.
BU struck first in scoring, breaking through in the second period.
In the 57th minute, Aline De Lima passed up to Raegan Padgett, leading her through the backline and up the right side of the penalty box.
Padgett outpaced the Frogs' defenders, taking a long look and strong kick to punch it into the net for the go-ahead goal to break the scoreless tie.
In the 69th minute, the Frogs took a long push into Baylor territory, taking a shot from nearly 30 yards out that flew just out of Wandt's reach, tying the match at 1-1.
With neither side able to punch through in regulation, the match headed into overtime.
In the 99th minute, a BU foul in the box awarded a penalty kick for TCU. Wandt guessed correctly on her save attempt, but the kick hooked just out of her reach, giving the Frogs the golden goal to steal the match in OT.
NOTES
*Baylor snapped a seven-match streak holding its opponents scoreless in regulation, with its only previous regulation goal allowed coming on Sept. 22 in the Big 12 opener with West Virginia on a goal by the Mountaineers in the 88th minute.
*Baylor fell to 2-4-2 in overtime matches this season, including 1-4-1 in Big 12 play.
*Raegan Padgett scored her second goal of the season and the fifth in her career.
*Aline De Lima notched the third assist of her career, all three coming in the 2017 season.

Baylor will kick off play in the Big 12 Soccer Championship, running Nov. 1-5 in Kansas City, Mo., with the Bears earning the No. 5 seed and playing No. 4 seed Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Swope Soccer Village.
