THE RUNDOWN
BYDGOSZCZ, Poland - Baylor track and field's Wil London secured a spot in the 400-meter semifinals Wednesday during the second day of the IAAF World U20 Championships at Zawisza Stadium.

Running in the first of six heats, the Waco, Texas, product tallied a second-place finish with a time of 47.23 to be one of three automatic qualifiers from that heat to make the semifinals. London's mark was the 17th-best on the day and his slowest of the 2016 outdoor season.

OTHER NOTABLES
- BU signee Aaliyah Miller advanced through the first and semifinal rounds of the 800 meters over the past two days in Poland. Running for Team USA, Miller earned a spot in the finals by running the No. 1 time at the meet in the semfinal round Wednesday, winning her heat with a mark of 2:04.36. She got to the semifinals by being the fourth-finisher in her first round heat with a time of 2:08.21 on Tuesday.
- Fellow BU signee Alison-Andrews Paul, running for New Zealand, fell short of the 800-meter final by carding the 12th-best time in the semifinals (2:06.32). She advanced out of the first round of competition Tuesday by winning her heat with the 11th-best overall mark of 2:08.13.

WHAT'S NEXT
On Thursday at the meet, London will run in the semifinals of the 400 meters at 7:45 p.m. (12:45 p.m. CT), while Miller will take part in the finals of the 800 meters at 8:45 p.m. (1:45 p.m. CT).
