No. 4 Vanderbilt knocked off No. 7 UCLA 4-2 in the finals of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships Tuesday. It was the first national championship in program history and the third for the school. The Commodores claimed the doubles point by getting wins on courts 1 and 3. Courtney Colton and Sydney Campbell combined for an 8-3 win over UCLA's Robin Anderson and Jennifer Brady, and Marie Casares and Frances Altick clinched the point with their 8-5 win over Chanelle Van Nguyen and Maia Magill. Vandy took a 2-0 lead when Ashleigh Antal won 6-1, 7-6 (6) over Kaitlin Ray on court 6. UCLA's Anderson won her match over Campbell at No. 1 to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Colton moved Vandy within one point of the title with her win over Catherine Harrison on court 4. After Jennifer Brady earned UCLA's second point on court 3, tournament Most Outstanding Player Astra Sharma secured the championship in a three-set thriller over Van Nguyen, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
