WACO, Texas- Baylor (20-28, 8-13) hosts Texas (24-24, 9-12) for a two-day, three-game series this weekend in the final regular season Big 12 Conference series. Saturday's game will start at 3 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Southwest and Sunday will feature a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. with both games on FOX Sports Plus.

UT returned the favor in Austin last year with its own sweep. Baylor enters the series after a 4-3 win over UTSA Tuesday night and will be looking to stay in its eighth place spot or better when the weekend is over to qualify for its 19th straight Big 12 Championship. Texas enters the weekend after a 12-day layoff for finals.

BAYLOR VS. TEXAS SERIES
Baylor trails the all-time series vs. Texas 105-234-4, and 59-91-3 in Waco, but is 33-41 under Steve Smith and 28-38 in the Big 12 era. BU had won each of the last two series before Texas swept the Bears in Austin on April 4-6, 2014, last season. Baylor has won nine series vs. UT in 18 seasons of Big 12 play. Baylor won the first six series from 1997 through 2002 and took a series sweep in 2005. Texas won the series in 2003 and 2004 and had taken each of the last six series before the Bears won 2012's series 2-1. The Bears swept Texas in 2013 in Waco on April 26-28 for their third sweep of UT in Big 12 play (1998, 2005, 2013).

BAYLOR BALLPARK'S HOME SWEET HOME ADVANTAGE
Since the park opened in 1999, Baylor owns a 381-164 record at Baylor Ballpark and has never had a losing season in the stadium. The closest BU came to a losing season was in 2011, when the Bears were 16-14 at Baylor Ballpark. Since 2012, BU has won 16 of its 23 home series. The Bears are 15-10 at home this year and have won four of six series thus far (3-0 vs. No .13 Cal Poly | 2-1 vs. Kent State | 2-1 vs. West Virginia | 2-1 vs. Oklahoma | 0-3 vs. Texas State | 1-2 vs. Kansas State).

BAYLOR LEADS LEAGUE IN ACADEMIC ALL-BIG 12 CHOICES FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR
Baylor had 12 student-athletes named to the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the league announced Thursday. The Bears tied with Texas for the most selections and have now led the conference in Academic All-Big 12 choices for the third straight season.

The Bears' 12 honorees (eight first team, four second team) mark the seventh season in a row with at least nine selections and were one shy of tying last year's program record selection total. In the league's 19-year history, Baylor student-athletes have earned 120 first team selections, 41 more than any other school in the conference. Oklahoma State (79) ranks second, followed by former member Nebraska (74), Texas (67), Kansas (63), Oklahoma (62), Kansas State (59), former member Missouri (55), Texas Tech (54), former member Texas A&M (33), TCU (12) and West Virginia (7).

Baylor's first team choices were senior outfielder Logan Brown (electrical and computer engineering), senior right-handed reliever Joe Kirkland (anthropology-forensic science), redshirt freshman infielder Steven McLean (pre-business), redshirt sophomore catcher Matt Menard (pre-business), redshirt freshman catcher Cameron Miller (exercise physiology), sophomore outfielder Darryn Sheppard (bachelor of arts), redshirt sophomore right-handed starter Drew Tolson (finance) and junior infielder West Tunnell (exercise physiology).

Brown earned the first team distinction for the third time in his career, which is the maximum amount of times the honor can be garnered. Menard, Tolson and Tunnell earned the award for the second time in their careers. Kirkland, McLean, Miller and Sheppard were all first time honorees.

BU's second team selections were sophomore first baseman Aaron Dodson (pre-business), sophomore right-handed pitcher Nick Lewis (pre-business), sophomore right-handed reliever Kyle Ott (health science studies) and senior right-handed reliever Sean Spicer (marketing). All four players garnered the award for the first time in their careers.
