WACO, Texas - The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its annual academic awards Wednesday and Baylor had 46 student-athletes earn spots for their work in the classroom.

Sophomore Michelina Carbone, senior Gillian Chant and sophomore Elizabeth Shank were named NCEA Academic First Team members Wendesday.

On the second team, sophomore Alicia Gasser and senior Parris Rice were honored for Baylor while Mary Brown (SR), Ginger Chant (SO), Savannah Jenkins (SO), Rachel Nankervis (SR), Paige Parker (JR), Samantha Schaefer (SR), and Lacy Watson (JR) were honorable mention honorees.

Thirty-four Baylor Bears were named to the NCEA Academic Honor Roll.
