IRVING, Texas - Baylor's Kyle Jones has been selected February's Big 12 Men's Golfer of the Month, as announced by the conference office Wednesday. With the award, Jones becomes the first three-time honoree in Baylor history, as he was previously honored in March 2014 and September 2014.

A Snowflake, Ariz., native, Jones recorded a 69.33 stroke average during the month, including five of six rounds below par. He won the individual title at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational for a third straight year, becoming the event's first three-time medalist. Jones shot 71-67-67 at Oak Hills, leading the Bears to the tournament title by 18 strokes.

Jones also tied for second place individually and led Baylor to a third-place finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Championship. He shot 73-69-69 at the event, lowering his season stroke average to a team-best 70.50. Jones has now finished among the top 15 individuals in all eight tournaments this season, including six top-five finishes.

Jones is the eighth player in Big 12 Conference history to win three Men's Golfer of the Month awards. He joins Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin (5), Morgan Hoffmann (3) and Peter Uihlein (3), Texas' Dylan Frittelli (5), Jason Hartwick (4) and Brandon Stone (3) and Oklahoma's Anthony Kim (3).

Baylor players have now earned six Big 12 Men's Golfer of the Month selections in the last four seasons. Prior to that stretch, BU had four honorees in nine seasons since the award was first given in 2002-03.
