WACO, Texas - Baylor continues its venture away from Baylor Ballpark as the Bears (6-5) head to Houston this weekend for the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park. BU will face Hawaii (5-8) Friday at Noon CT, No. 2 LSU (12-1) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and No. 22 Texas A&M (13-0) Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The Bears will make their ninth appearance in the event and hold a 13-11 all-time record, including going 2-1 in their last showing in 2013. After being swept at Cal State Fullerton last weekend, Baylor enters this weekend after having played no midweek game due weather postponing Wednesday's scheduled contest against Sam Houston State.

All Baylor baseball games are broadcast live on Waco's 1660 ESPN Central Texas (1330 AM/100.9 FM in Temple, Belton and Killeen). Tom Barfield provides the play-by-play with Lark Smith adding color commentary. Live streaming audio, video (non-TV home games only) and GameTracker also are available for all Baylor baseball games online at BaylorBears.com.

BAYLOR AT THE HOUSTON COLLEGE CLASSIC
Baylor is making its ninth appearance in the Houston College Classic put on by the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. The Bears are 13-11 all-time in the tournament, including a 3-0 record in their 2005 College World Series season. In BU's last appearance in 2013, it opened with a 9-0 win over California on March 1, 2013. After falling 15-4 in seven innings to Houston on March 2, 2013, the Bears rebounded for a big, 9-2 win over No. 13 Rice on March 3, 2013.

DODSON & ARRINGTON EARN BIG 12 WEEKLY HONORS
Baylor's Aaron Dodson and Justin Arrington were named Big 12 Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.

The last time Baylor had two players earn a weekly honor from the league in the same week was March 4, 2013, when Max Garner won the pitching honor and Cal Towey garnered the hitting honor. The duo joins Sean Spicer (Feb. 16, Big 12 Pitcher of the Week) on the list of players to collect a weekly league accolade this season. Dodson's player of the week award is the first for Baylor since Adam Toth was chosen on May 5, 2014, and Arrington's newcomer of the week award is the first for the Bears since Daniel Castano was selected on April 21, 2014.

Dodson hit .500 (8-for-16) in four games with five runs, three doubles, one triple, one RBI, 13 total bases, an .813 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage last week for the Bears. In Wednesday's win over Northwestern State, the sophomore first baseman/catcher went 2-for-4 with two runs and a double. On Friday at Cal State Fullerton, he went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, one triple and one RBI in the second game of a doubleheader. On Saturday at Cal State Fullerton, he went 3-for-5 with a run scored. The Cypress, Texas, native's back-to-back career-high three-hit games marked his team-leading fourth and fifth multi-hit games - he's had those five multi-hit efforts in seven games played this season as he missed the first week due to injury.

Arrington hit .417 (5-for-12) in four games with one run, one double, four RBI, six total bases, a .500 slugging percentage, one walk, a .462 on-base percentage and one steal. In Wednesday's win over Northwestern State, the junior transfer went 1-for-4 with a run, RBI and steal. In the first game of a doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton, he went 2-for-2 with an RBI, walk and double. In the second game, he went 1-for-3. In Saturday's finale, the Plano, Texas, native went 1-for-3 with two RBI to extend his on-base streak to seven games and hitting streak to five.

Of the 11 players to earn weekly awards from the league this season, Baylor and Oklahoma State lead the way with three apiece. Overall, the Bears have had 40 player of the week selections and seven newcomer of the week choices in the Big 12.

BAYLOR-LSU ALL-TIME SERIES
Baylor is 2-7 all-time against LSU, 1-0 in neutral site games and 1-6 under Steve Smith. LSU has taken three straight in the series, including the last meeting in which the No. 2 Tigers won 3-2 in 10 innings at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on May 30, 2009.

BAYLOR-TEXAS A&M ALL-TIME SERIES
Baylor is 129-180-4 all-time against Texas A&M, 37-78-2 in neutral site games and 30-29 under Steve Smith. The Bears have won three straight in the series, including the last meeting in which No. 6 BU posted a 7-5 win over No. 2 TAMU in Waco on April 22, 2012.

BAYLOR VS. THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE
Baylor is 222-262-4 all-time against current members of the SEC: Arkansas (38-38), Florida (1-1), Georgia (3-2), LSU (2-7), Mississippi (4-1), Mississippi State (6-3), Missouri (33-26), South Carolina (0-1), Tennessee (1-0), Texas A&M (129-180-4), Vanderbilt (5-3).

BAYLOR VS. THE BIG WEST CONFERENCE
Baylor is 18-24 all-time against current members of the Big West: Cal Poly (3-0), Cal State Fullerton (4-8), Long Beach State (5-10), UC Irvine (6-6). BU is 3-3 this year after sweeping No. 13 Cal Poly to begin the season in Waco and being swept at Cal State Fullerton last weekend. BU and Hawaii have never met.

FRESH FACES SETTING THE PACE
Partially due to injuries, Baylor's underclassmen have 68 percent of the team's at-bats and 61 percent of the team's innings pitched. The Bears' team leaders in homers (Aaron Dodson and Kameron Esthay, 1), slugging percentage (Dodson, .750), doubles (Darryn Sheppard, 5), ERA (Theron Kay, 1.46), wins (Theron Kay, 2) and innings pitched (Drew Tolson, 16.0) are all underclassmen.
