March 4, 2015 The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) released its second Coaches' Poll Tuesday where Baylor (3-0) remained second behind Oregon.
"Our team really doesn't pay attention to rankings because it is all about where we finish at the end of the season. Oregon received 100 percent of the votes which means that I voted for them as well. I feel that at this point in the year they are the best team and we are the number two team," head coach Felecia Mulkey said. "The first four teams are very spot on. My goal for this team is to peak at the right time, and we haven't peaked yet so I think the rankings are very accurate."
In the first NCATA Coaches' Poll released in January, the Bears were picked second and received three of the 11 first places votes. Since then, Mulkey's squad has picked up three victories at home and on the road. On Feb. 7, the Bears hosted Quinnipiac and Concordia University Wisconsin in a tri-meet at the Ferrell Center where they came out on top 262.405 followed by Quinnipiac's 253.590 and CUW's 212.34. BU then hit the road on Feb. 22 to Bristol, Tenn., where they defeated King Universit,y 276.595-250.795.
Next up for the Bears are two consecutive away meets starting with Azusa Pacific University on March 9, at 8:30 p.m. (CT) in Azusa, Calif. On March 12, BU will travel to Eugene, Ore., to take on the University of Oregon at 8:30 p.m. (CT).
