The decorated BU athlete brings four years of championship experience to Mulkey’s staff
WACO – Head coach Felecia Mulkey announced the addition of Meredith Wells as the newest assistant coach for the Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling program on Monday.
Â
A four-year member of Baylor's nationally dominant Acrobatics & Tumbling program from 2023-26, Wells remains in Waco after helping the Bears capture four consecutive national championships during her decorated career in green and gold.
Â
"Meredith was an amazing leader as an athlete," Mulkey said. "I am excited to watch her transfer that leadership ability into a coaching role. Her knowledge of both the tumbling and acro aspects of the sport will serve our program well. She understands Baylor and our program. We are thrilled to have her on board."
Â
During her time as a student-athlete, Wells contributed to one of the most successful stretches in program history, helping Baylor continue its dominance on the national stage with four NCATA national titles.
Â
She also captured the 2026 NCATA Synchronized Pyramid, Inversion Pyramid and Six-Element Acro national championships after sweeping both the Synchronized Pyramid and Inversion Pyramid titles in 2025. Wells also claimed the 2024 NCATA 450 Salto Toss national championship during her sophomore campaign.
Â
Known for her consistency and versatility across multiple events, Wells played a key role in Baylor's continued success throughout her collegiate career, helping the Bears maintain their status as the gold standard in collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling.
Â
The Bears are coming off another incredible season, winning their 62nd-straight meet and 11th-straight national championship, putting an exclamation mark on the sport's chapter with the NCATA as it transitions to an NCAA Championship sport next season.
Â
Wells joins a staff spearheaded by Mulkey and her assistants, Shayla Hutchins, Kelsey Rowell and Director of Operations, Treasure Fields.
