March 27, 2015 Scoresheet THE RUNDOWN FORT WORTH, Texas - Baylor will compete for its first Big 12 equestrian championships since 2010 after defeating No. 4 seed TCU Friday 14-6, in the semifinals.
The win gave the Bears three wins over the Horned Frogs this season, and propelled Baylor on to the final round against Kansas State. No. 3 KSU pulled the upset over Oklahoma State 10-8 in the other semifinals meet to set up the championship.
In hunter seat, No. 1 seed Baylor swept fences 5-0 and took flat 3-2. The Bears won horsemanship and reining 3-2 in each event to get the edge in each western event.

Mary Brown won her horsemanship and reining matchups to contribute two points to Baylor's score.

Alicia Gasser, Sam Schaefer, and
Savannah Jenkins each contributed two points in hunter seat by winning their contests in both flat and fences.
THEY SAID IT Baylor Head Coach Ellen White on Baylor's win... "Really good job today. We took every event from them, and everyone really rode great. I think the judges are liking the way we're ridin. It feels like an even playing field, and TCU is doing an excellent job of hosting. If we just stay on track and do the same thing tomorrow, we'll be in good shape."
WHAT'S NEXT Baylor and K-State begin the title meet at 10 a.m. The teams split their matchups this season. The Bears took the fall meeting on Nov. 15 in Waco by a score of 13-7 but fell to the Wildcats 10-9 on the road on Feb. 28. K-State finished the regular season ranked No. 10 in the NCEA with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-3 record in conference play.
