WACO, Texas - The third-ranked Baylor men's tennis team continues its 2015 regular season by taking part in the BNP Paribas Collegiate Challenge presented by Oracle at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif.
The Bears will open the eight-team tournament by playing BYU Friday at 4 p.m. CT. The Bears will be playing only the second-match ever against BYU, after falling to the Cougars in 1971.
BYU is 8-9 on the season, but has lost four-straight matches.
Other teams in the field include No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 USC, No. 20 Tulsa, No. 28 California, No. 29 Columbia and Purdue.
If Baylor were to beat BYU Friday, the Bears would play the winner of USC and Tulsa Saturday at 4 p.m. CT. With another win, BU would make the event's championship match Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
Last season at the event, Baylor picked up wins over No. 20 California, 4-1 and No. 6 Illinois, 4-0.
Baylor is coming off a 4-1 victory at No. 13 Ole Miss last Tuesday. The Bears are 12-2 on the season and have a 5-1 record in matches away from Waco.
BU is led by fourth-ranked Julian Lenz, who is 7-2 on the season. Baylor has two other ranked players in singles with Tony Lupieri and Max Tchoutakian listed at No. 29 and 36 respectively in the latest ITA rankings. The Bears are led in doubles with Lupieri joining Felipe Rios to be ranked No. 28, while Lupieri and Zsiga are listed as the country's 40th-best duo.

Following the matches in California, Baylor returns home to host a doubleheader against Incarnate Word (1 p.m.) and UT Arlington (6 p.m.) on March 29.
