MANHATTAN, Kansas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" No. 3 Baylor Equestrian (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) earned its second consecutive tiebreaker victory on the road this season, downing Kansas State (1-2, 0-2 Big 12) in a tense meet that finished in a 9-9 draw. The overall mark favored the Bears, earning their second Big 12 win of the season, 1452.3-1347.3.
The Bears swept on equitation on the flat with Alicia Gasser, Jenny Mitchell, Savannah Jenkins, and Paige Parker, 4-0.
The Bears were unable to take the advantage on fences, with the Wildcats holding the edge, 3-2. Parker and Jenkins earned the points for the Bears.
Despite the over fences loss, Baylor equitation bounced back with a 6-3 win on hunter seat.
The Bears were bested in western, 6-3. The Wildcats were able to tie the meet with a 4-1 advantage in horsemanship. Freshman Abbi Demel earned Baylor's only point.
Heading into reining locked up at 7-7, KSU took a 2-1 advantage, with BU down to the final rider. Ginger Chant pulled out the equalizing point, tying the match at 9-9. Down to the raw points tiebreaker, Baylor held the advantage and maintained their perfect record.
