PLANTATION, Fla. - Baylor men's tennis junior Julian Lenz earned a spot in his third career Futures final with a straight-set victory over world No. 313 Gonzalo Escobar at the USTA Men's $10K Plantation Community Tennis Open Saturday.
The 6-2, 6-2 victory for Lenz at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center was the fourth straight win for the BU junior at the USTA Futures event.
On Sunday, Lenz will go for his first career Futures title, after having lost his previous two final appearances. Both of those matches were three-set decisions in Lenz's home country of Germany.
Lenz is now 9-1 in his last 10 professional event matches.

WHAT'S NEXT
Lenz will now face the event's No. 1 overall seed in Sweden's Christian Lindell on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT. Lindell is currently ranked No. 279 in the ATP World Rankings.
