Dec. 3, 2014 WACO, Texas - Baylor's Brittney Mirkov was honored Wednesday by league office as Big 12 Rider of the month for her performance in fences during the month of November.
Mirkov, a freshman from Sparta, N.J., helped Baylor maintain its No. 1 ranking by earning a 47-point win over her Kansas State opponent, Nov. 15, and she defeated her Delaware counterpart 75-63, Nov. 21. Those performances helped the Bears beat the No. 2 Wildcats 13-7, and the Hornets 14-6.
Her award marks the seventh consecutive month the Big 12 has honored a Baylor rider as Rider of the Month in fences.
Baylor is ranked No. 1 in the NCEA and carries an 8-0 record into the break. The Bears resume competition Jan. 29 against New Mexico State at home.
