WACO, Texas - Baylor's Samantha Schaefer and Rachel Nankervis were honored by the league office as Big 12 Riders of the Month Thursday. Schaefer was named co-Rider of the Month for fences while Nankervis earned co-Rider of the Month for her performance in horsemanship.

Schaefer, a senior from West Minster, Md., contributed points toward Baylor's defeat of then No. 7-ranked TCU, Oct. 24, and then No. 1-ranked Georgia, Oct. 25. Schaefer went 2-0-1 for the month with a tie against then-No. 2 ranked Oklahoma State, Oct. 18. Schaefer shared the award with TCU's Kaitlyn Perry.

Nankervis, a senior from Bolden, Colo. won Most Outstanding Player honors against TCU and helped the Bears sweep the Horned Frogs 5-0 in the horsemanship event. She won her second MOP award against Georgia with a score of 75 and finished the month at 2-0. She shared the honor with Paris Nottingham of Oklahoma State.

Baylor was idle Saturday but remains No. 1 in the NCEA top 10 rankings after a 6-0 start.

The Bears resume play in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup against Kansas State at home, Nov 15 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
