THE RUNDOWN
DURHAM, N.C. - The Baylor men's golf team shot 2-under-par 286 in Saturday's first round of the Rod Myers Invitational, placing the Bears in third place heading into Sunday's final round. Play was suspended during the second round due to inclement weather, and the tournament will be reduced to a 36-hole event.
The Bears trail tournament leader North Carolina (-10), by eight strokes and second place East Carolina (-7) by five strokes heading into the final round. Liberty (-1) is currently in fourth place, trailing Baylor by one stroke. Michigan State rounds out the top five after shooting an opening round of even-par 288.
Three Baylor players finished the day among the top 10 individuals. Seniors Kyle Jones and Filippo Zucchetti both shot 3-under in the first round to tie for sixth place. Junior Frederik Andersen, who is competing as an individual, finished the day in a tie for 10th place at 2-under par.
Senior Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen is tied in 28th place after posting an opening round of 1-over-par 73, while juniors Andreas Gjesteby and Andrew Hans both shot 3-over 75 in Saturday's round, placing them in a tie for 42nd place.
HIGHLIGHTS
? Andersen leads the 72-player field in par-4 scoring average at 3.70, while Bjerch-Andresen is in second place averaging 3.80.
? Hans made the second-most pars in the field posting 14 pars in 18 holes played.
? Zucchetti and Andresen had five birdies apiece in the first round, giving them the second-most birdies in the field.
? Zucchetti averaged 2.50 in par-3 scoring, which was the second-best average in the 72-player field.
? The Bears shot 6-under as a team on the hole No. 9 with two eagles, two birdies and one par.

2 - the number of eagles made by Baylor players in the first round. Jones and Hans accounted for two of the three eagles that were made in the tournament's first round.
WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor played eight holes of the second round before play was suspended, so the Bears will return to action at 8 a.m. CT to finish the second round. Jones will begin on hole No. 7, while Gjesteby, Bjerch-Andresen and Zucchetti will begin the day on hole No. 9. Hans and Andersen will begin the final round on hole No. 11.
