Baylor trails the tournament co-leaders No. 12 TCU (-6, 562), No. 4 New Mexico (-6, 562) and No. 6 Texas (-6, 562) by 11 strokes. No. 44 Texas Tech (-2, 566) is four strokes off the lead, followed by Oklahoma State (E, 568), who is in 5th at even par. Baylor enters Sunday's final round three strokes behind 9th place No. 20 Kent State.
"We just got off to a rough start today that really put us behind the eight ball," head coach Greg Priest said. "For whatever reason, we haven't been able to put 54 holes together. We did play well in the second round, and hopefully we can carry that into the final round."
Kyle Jones (E, 142) leads the Bears and is tied for 13th individually at even par. Jones jumped 24 places from a tie for 37th place after shooting 4-under-par 68 in the second round.
Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen (+4, 146) is tied for 37th place, followed by Niclas Mansson (+6, 148), who is tied for 44th at 6-over par. Senior Ryan O'Rear (+7, 149) is one stroke back in a tie for 49th, and Baylor's individual Matthew Seligmann is tied for 58th at 10-over-par. Filippo Zucchetti (+13, 155) is in 64th place.
Tee times for the final round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate begin at 8 a.m. CT Sunday, with Seligmann teeing off first for Baylor at 8:09 a.m. on the 10th hole. Zucchetti, O'Rear, Mansson, Bjerch-Andresen and Jones follow in nine-minute intervals, respectively. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
