INDIANAPOLIS - Freshman Mate Zsiga will represent the Baylor men's tennis team in the individual portion of the NCAA Tennis Championships later this month in Athens, Ga.
The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee made the announcement Monday that Zsiga (Szeged, Hungary) would be one of 48 at-large bids into the 64-man singles bracket.
Zsiga, currently ranked No. 16 nationally, leads the Bears on the season with a 34-7 overall record and is 20-4 in dual match play, all at the No. 1 position.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 18-22). The University of Georgia will serve as host.
All matches shall be the best of three sets. Regular scoring and a 12-point tiebreaker at six games all will be used for all matches.
