NCAA Ann Arbor Regional Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -Baylor men's golf's season came to an end Saturday with an 11th-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional.

The Bears, making their 15th consecutive NCAA Regional trip, finished the weekend at 30-over (296-297-289=882). Baylor was never able to overcome its rough start from Thursday's first round, remaining in 11th at the end of all three rounds.

USC bested Pac-12 rival Oregon by one stroke to take the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional title. Kent State, Virginia and TCU finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, and will join USC and Oregon at the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. North Carolina State's Albin Choi finished the tournament at 10-under, earning an individual berth to the NCAA Championship.

2012 Big 12 champion Joakim Mikkelsen concluded his stellar college career with a 13th-place finish at 2-under (67-73-71=211). He carded a 71.38 scoring average this season in 40 rounds, the second-lowest single-season average in program history (Ryan Baca, 70.59, 2005-06). The Drammen, Norway, native also finishes as the Baylor leader with 155 career rounds played, while finishing third in both top-five (12) and top-10 (19) finishes.

For the second straight day, freshman Kyle Jones posted the best round by a Baylor golfer. The Snowflake, Ariz., native carded a 1-under 70 to finish tied for 38th overall at 7-over (78-72-70=220).

Freshman Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen fired a final-round 71 to tie for 62nd at 13-over (78-77-71=226), while redshirt freshman Niclas Mansson (76-76-77=229) and junior Ryan O'Rear (75-76-78=229) tied for 65th at 16-over.

Baylor concluded its 2011-12 season with nine top-five finishes in 13 events, the most by the Bears in a single season since 2005-06 (also nine top-five finishes).
