Equestrian Loses Late To K-State

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The No. 2 seed Baylor equestrian team (10-5) yielded a loss of 10-6 to No. 4 seed Kansas State, Saturday afternoon at Timbercreek Stables in Manhattan, Kan.

The meet began with a 3-1 win for Kansas State in Fences. Samantha Schaefer (173) won the lone point for Baylor.

The Bears evened the score to 4-4 with a 3-1 victory in Flat. Lisa Goldman (159), Kim Woodsum (158) and Schaefer (155) all contributed points for BU.

The meet continued with a 2-2 tie in Horsemanship to make it 6-6. Megan Murphy (149) and Parris Rice (149.5) both earned the points for Baylor.

BU ended the meet with a 4-0 loss to Kansas State in Reining.

In two weeks the Bears will compete in the NCEA National Championship at the ExtraCo Events Center.
