Equestrian Falls To Texas A&M 9-6

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The No.2 seed Baylor equestrian team (10-5) suffered a 9-6 to the No. 3 seed Texas A&M (9-4) Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference Championship at Timbercreek Stables in Manhattan, Kan. The loss made BU 2-1 against the Aggies this year.

The meet began with a 2-1 win for the Bears in Fences. Samantha Schaefer (172) and Lisa Goldman (141) contributed the points for the BU win.

Holding onto a 4-3 lead with a 2-2 tie in Flat, both Samantha Schaefer (144) and Taylor Brown (153) earned the points for Baylor.

Texas A&M took the lead 6-5 after beating the Bears 3-1 in Horsemanship. Parris Rice (147) got the lone Baylor point.

The meet ended with a 3-1 loss for BU in Reining. Ellie Powell (135) earned the point for the bears.

Baylor will take on No.4 seed Kansas State for third place at 10 a.m.
