On not playing Brittney Griner:
"I'm redshirting her. Now, she might talk me out of it before daylight, but for now I'm redshirting her. Put it in the headlines across the country. Honestly, it was a coach's decision. She's not in trouble or hurt."
On Tarleton State:
"Coach Hearne is a trooper. We called Fayetteville State and we called Coach Hearne and I thought his team played hard. I don't look at the scoreboard. I would've tuned the scoreboard off. It's about people making memories and kids getting better and competing."
On the guard play:
"I thought our guards did what they were supposed to do. They were in passing lanes and made things happen. I think they set the tone there early and just did a very good job."
On the freshmen play:
"I liked the play of our freshmen. It's hard when you substitute and take players out of the flow of the game. I just wish we had Alexis (Prince). We didn't anticipate the injury, but we have to be patient with it. She's as impatient as I probably am as a coach. Everyday, that freshmen group is going against a 40-0 team full of seniors. The frustration of that starts to show in practice, but they look good in games."
On what she focused on today:
"We focus on the little things like defense. Destiny (Williams) and I will probably get chewed out for Kiara (Wright) going off like she did. It's not about going out and scoring a lot of points. You really want to work on the things that matter most in the big games."
On her play and what she worked on tonight:
"I focused on getting better at everything, both offensively and defensively. I think our team can get lazy, especially on the defensive end. When I play hard and pressure the ball, that makes everyone around me play better."

On the play of Keyra Johnson:
"She looked a little more competent at the point guard position. Baylor was nice to us at the end and backed off a little bit, but I believe in Keyra Johnson. She is coachable and very athletic. Once she learns how to handle the pressure, she will be fine."
On scheduling Baylor:
"Baylor has been awful nice to us. They really took care of us here. They showed us around the facilities and around the campus. People think I am crazy for doing this, but I think it was the right thing to do. It might not help Baylor to play us, but it will certainly help us."
