WACO, Texas- Baylor's sixth-ranked women's tennis team will begin the first two matches of an eight-match homestand against Prairie View A&M at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Houston at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The Lady Bears carry a 2-0 record into the weekend, after knocking off Penn State and Hawai'i in Honolulu two weeks ago. Baylor won each match by a score of 5-2 in its trip to the islands. The match is the first dual of the season for both Prairie View A&M and Houston.

In its two matches to open the season, Nina Secerbegovic, Sona Novakova and Jordaan Sanfordeach had perfect weekends with two singles and two doubles wins. Secerbegovic and Sanford each won both of their singles matches in straight sets, while Novakova dropped just one set during the road trip.

Freshman Megan Horter and 14th-ranked senior Diana Nakiceach collected a singles victory with Horter earning a win at the No. 5 spot against Penn State, and Nakic taking a victory in the No. 1 position against Hawai'i.

Also, the Baylor tennis team will welcome the recently announced additions of three current student-athletes from other programs at Baylor. The volleyball team's Zoe Adom and Brittany Ridenour and soccer team's Dan Larsen will help fill out an injury-riddled lineup as Baylor takes on its match-filled schedule.

The match on Friday against Prairie View A&M marks the first of eight home matches that will be played during a 16-day span from Jan. 20-Feb. 4.
